Survivor Syndrome Workshop

If your organisation has recently been through a redundancy or restructure programme then you have to consider the effect it has on the staff left behind. "Survivor Syndrome" affects most organisations where redundancies have occurred and it generally destroys most or all of the intended "benefits" of reducing the headcount in the first place. We are now offering a short workshop for managers to help them to avoid the worst effects of this proven impact of a reduction in workforce.

Whilst it is best to have started planning to manage Survivor Syndrome before you announced redundancies it is never too late to take remedial action. This workshop aims to:-

  • Describe "survivor syndrome" and how it is currently impacting you and your team in the workplace.
  • Identify the after effects e.g. fear, insecurity, mistrust of management, lack of loyalty, low productivity etc
  • List 5 tips to minimise the impact of layoff survivor syndrome.
  • Develop an action plan to help you re-engage with your team and return to previous productivity levels in the workplace.
  • Identify the role of the manager in dealing with layoff survivors in his/her work group.
