Career transition programme (CTP)

Point to each number in turn

What to do when you receive that job offer. How to negotiate the best deal, legal matters, benefits, relocation etc. Endings and transition. Many of our clients have become friends and are still in contact with us. Some have become new business clients!! This first meeting will last for three or four hours.  This is a "getting to know you" session for both client and counseller and the completion of a range of psychometric tests. To provide feedback on the pschometric tests and to carry out a full career review i.e. Who am I? What do I want? What do I have to offer? What do I want to do for the next few years? Who wants me?

By now the client is usually highly motivated and attending frequent job interviews. He/she usually wishes to discuss how to refine letters of application, unsolicited applications and possibly how to conduct salary negotiations. eastwest.jpg (6186 bytes) The Way We Work eastwest.jpg (6186 bytes) This meeting will focus exclusively on the CV and the job search process. At the end of this session the client will have a first rate marketing document.

At this stage of the process the client should have gained sufficient confidence and knowledge about the job search process. Clients normally wish to review recent interviews, practice difficult questions, revise letters to headhunters etc. This important session will focus on the vital importance of the interview.  Interview techniques, interview practice using CCTV, difficult questions etc. A marketing and planning meeting. Refining the job search as necessary. Networking techniques, letter writing. Motivating the client to keep going.

 

Clients keen to progress their job search can progress through the CTP as quickly or as slowly as they please.  The model outlined above is provided as a guideline only.  On average most of our CTP clients are operating confidently after about four weeks.
